"Boys, Charlotte, come here." Denise called us into the kitchen area. We all slid into the booth and wondered what was up.
"Charlotte," Denise started "we were wondering. You're almost sixteen. Do you want a party?"
"I don't think there's time."
"Well the tour is almost over."
"Well, I have always dreamed about my sweet sixteen, so I guess if it's not too much trouble, I'd love one."
"It's settled then. You're having one."
We began looking immediately online for places to have it. We decided on a beautiful hall in the Hollywood Hills. The best part is, we didn't have to pay.
Maybe I should explain why.
Flashback.
"Charlotte, Nick, Joe, Kevin. Disney would like you to join our team. Become Disney stars. We'd like to work with you all. You're all such good role models so we'd love for you to join us."
The boys and I looked to each other and then Kevin spoke. "We'd love to."
End Flashback
So now Disney wanted to fund my sweet sixteen.
At that night's show I was surprised to see one of my favorite singers come backstage to meet me.
"Oh my gosh! You're Miley Cyrus."
"And you're Charlotte Skye! I'm a huge fan."
"Same here."
Oh man, Miley Cyrus was a fan of me.
Eventually I would come to learn that Miley and I would be best friends.
Two Weeks Later.
Disney had supplied me with my own tour bus and Miley had joined us on tour.
"Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey." Miley said jumping on the couch I had fallen asleep on the night before.
"Ugh, Miley! What time is it?"
"About ten."
I went to get up but wound up falling off the couch.
"Dammit." I said as Miley laughed her @ss off.
"Doot da doo, life's good."
"Shut up Miley, it's too early."
"You love me nonetheless. And since you love me, I get to choose what we do today. Which means we're going shopping."
"You read my mind girl."
To Nick
Wanna come shopping. Ask the others too.
From Nick
Me and Joe are in. Kevin's not feeling so great.
To Nick
Kay. We'll be ready in an hour.
Today's outfit was a white tank, ripped Bebe jeans, black converses, a red scarf and my favorite True Religion leather jacket. Miley and I were finally done so we went over to the Jonas bus.
"Jonai, we're here!"
"Back here." Nick called.
We walked to the back room to find Joe and Nick playing Halo.
"Great we're never going to get out of here." Miley whispered.
"Wanna bet?" I asked and she raised an eyebrow.
I walked over to the XBOX 360 and pulled the plug.
"ARE YOU CRAZYYYY!" They both screamed.
"Yup."
"You're going to pay for that." Nick said getting up and charging at me. He lifted me over his shoulder and ran out of the tour bus with me. Miley was getting this all on video and I had no doubts it would be on youtube.
"Nicholas! Put me down. I'll kill you if you drop me."
"You'll already be dead."
He finally put me down and we walked to the SUV where Miley, Joe and Big Rob were waiting.
Due to our rapidly growing fame we were forced to get a body guard.
"Where to?" Big Rob asked when we loaded in.
Since none of us were too familiar with Miami, Miley and I had googled places to shop.
"The Aventura Mall." I said.
Big Rob typed it into the navigation and we were off.
Twenty minutes later and we had arrived. We shopped undisturbed, thankfully. Don't get me wrong, we love our fans, but it's nice to have some down time. But of course, when we sat down to eat a little girl, about five or six, came and asked for our autographs. We signed and soon our table was rushed by at least 130 people. We got up before even ordering and Big Rob escorted us safely to the car. As we walked through the mall though, more people joined the mob. All we could see out the back window was a sea of people chasing the car.
"So now where do we go, because I'm starving." Joe asked.
"How about Tobacco Road, my dad swears by it."
"Sounds good."
Lunch was amazing. Good pick Miles. When we got back the boys and Miley and I went our separate ways.
I was fine, til 7:05.
"Hola?"
"Little cuz, how's the tour?"
"Hey Jesse. It's amazing. How's where ever you are?"
"Find out for yourself."
"What?"
"Open the door and find out."
I opened the tour bus door to see Jesse and Sierra.
"Oh my goodness. What are you doing here?" I said hugging both of them. "Come in, come in."
"Can't we visit my favorite cousin?"
"No. What's the real reason."
"We have an announcement."

Chapter Six: A Place To Think.
Sitting on the bus, watching television, I'm interrupted by the boys.
"CHARLOTTE SKYE!" Joe screams as he sits on top of me.
"Joseph Adam! Get off of me." He did as I asked and then I continued, "what do you want?"
"You have to be in our youtube video."
"Okay."
The video was of Joe unleashing his inner nerd and using his library card to check me out. We uploaded it onto youtube and within two hours we had 300,000 views.
At our show that night Joe seemed super out of it.
After the show.
I went to Joe's bunk and pulled back the curtain. He was laying there, texting, shirtless. Did it just get hot in here? Most likely he was texting Camilla.
"What's wrong, Joe?"
"Nothing, why?"
"You're a horrible liar, Joseph. You were so out of it tonight."
"Okay, well. I met someone new."
"What about Camilla?"
"I broke up with her before the show."
"Who's the new girl?"
"I don't want to say."
"Pweaseee?" I said putting on my saddest face.
"Now isn't the time."
"Alright." I said walking away, defeated.
We had another show at the same venue the next night so our bus would stay in the parking lot, guarded all night.
"Hey Nick." I said when I found him in the back room.
"Hi."
"What're you doing?"
"Nothing. Hey, I have an idea. Follow me." He ran out of the bus and I followed like I'd been told.
"Nick, where are you?" I said when I got off the bus. It was pitch black out and I couldn't see Nick anywhere.
No answer.
"Nick this isn't funny. You're scaring me."
Again, no answer.
I was about to go inside and tell everyone Nick was missing when I heard something.
"Pssttt, Charlie." There it was again. I couldn't tell which direction it had come from.
"Look up already!" The voice was getting angry. I did, and saw Nick sitting atop the bus.
"Wanna join?" He raised an eyebrow and I couldn't help but to laugh.
"How do I get up there?"
"There's a ladder at the back."
I went around to the back of the bus and climbed the ladder. I walked cautiously along the top of the bus, afraid it would begin to move at any moment. After what seemed like a mile walk, I arrived where Nick was sitting.
"Can I sit?" I joked.
"Sorry, seats taken."
"Well when somebody comes to claim it, they can have it. But until then, I think I'll plop down."
Nick just laughed.
I turned to Nick, raised an eyebrow and asked seriously, "you come here often?"
This caused Nick to burst out laughing even more.
"But really, I take it you like to hang out here."
"Kinda. I love coming up here and just looking at the stars and it's a great place to think."
"What about?"
"Well for one, this. The fame, how fast it's all happening."
"Yeah, it feels like just yesterday I didn't even dream I'd be here."
"Yeah, Charlie, can I tell you something?"
"Of course."
"I'm glad you're here with us. I wouldn't want it to be anyone else. You're my best friend."
"Nick, I'm so happy to be here with you. And you're my best friend too. I feel like I can tell you anything without being judged and you'll never think less of me."
We sat in silence for at least fifteen minutes, just looking at the stars.
"It's so beautiful." I spoke.
"What is?"
"The night, the stars, everything."
I truly enjoyed just sitting here with Nick, as friends. It was so careless and stress free.
I opened my eyes but quickly shut them when the light began to burn them.
"Nick, wake up!" I said, shaking him.
"What?" He asked confused as to why I was waking him.
"We must've fallen asleep up here."
"Oh crap, we should get inside before they notice we're missing."
We climbed down and tiptoed quietly onto the bus.
"Shh, someone's awake." I said when I heard the television on in the back room. Nick went to check who it was. But then the bathroom door opened behind us.
"Were ya comin from?" I heard asked, in Joe's voice.
"Nick and I just went for a walk." I said nonchalantly.
"You're wearing the same clothes you wore yesterday."
"Uh, well yeah, you know..." I tried to come up with an excuse.
"Save it. I know you guys were on the roof.
"So is now the time to tell me?" I said changing the subject.
"No Charlotte, don't worry, when it is you'll be the first to know."
I walked to the back room where Nick had gone before me.
"Has Joe said anything to you about this mystery girl?" I asked as I took a seat next to him on the couch.
"Mm, not that I recall."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah."
"We need to find out who she is."
"Why does it matter?"
"I'm just curious."
"Curious? Or jealous?"
"I'm definitely not jealous."
"Mhm, sure, whatever you say."
"CHARLOTTE SKYE!" Joe screams as he sits on top of me.
"Joseph Adam! Get off of me." He did as I asked and then I continued, "what do you want?"

Chapter Five: Tragedy Strikes.
When you look me in the eyes, and tell me that you love me..
I ran to my bunk and picked up my phone.
"Hola, mamacita!"
"Hello Charlotte, how's the tour?"
"Amazing, wish you were here."
"Well, that's why I'm calling. We're leaving Dallas today and flying out to meet you guys in Miami."
"Oh my goodness, that's great. When does your flight leave?"
"Not for a few hours. Denise and Paul already know. They'll be picking us up because it'll be pretty late, Miami time."
"Okay, can I talk to dad?"
"Sure, hold on a sec."
"Hi Charlotte."
"Hi dad. I was just wondering if maybe when you come you could bring Nick a signed jersey. The Cowboys are his favorite and I've been waiting for a good time to ask."
"Of course Charlotte."
"Okay, see you later dad. Love you. Tell mom I love her too."
"Bye sweetie. Love you too."
That was the last time I ever heard my mother and father's voices. By then it as already 9:45 so I just went to sleep. I remember waking up to the ringing of Denise's phone. Her phone never rang at night. I pressed the send button on my Blackberry and it lit up. 2:43. Who could be calling at 2:43. It was probably my parents. Denise and Paul had probably forgotten to pick them up. But then I heard Denise crying. I peeked my head out of the bunk to see Denise's head on Paul's shoulder. They were both crying by now. Oh God. No. It couldn't be. I quietly hopped out of my bunk and walked to where Denise and Paul were.
"Is everything okay?" My voice shook, still groggy from just waking up.
"Oh Charlotte, please sit down." Denise led me to the kitchen table. "Charlotte, I don't know how to tell you this, but your parents jet crashed. Nobody survived. I'm so sorry." Her voice was still breaking.
I didn't cry. I couldn't. It's just how I was. I never cried when something first hit me. It would catch up with me though.
We had to fly back to California for the funerals and reading of the wills. Sitting in the funeral home was making me miserable.
"Charlie, you'll be okay. We're her for you." Joe said, pulling me into a hug.
"I hope so." I buried my head into his chest.
"Let's go for a walk." Joe put his arm around my shoulders.
"Okay."
We set off, after telling Denise we were leaving. I could see the hurt in Nick's eyes when he realized Joe was the one comforting me, instead of him. As we walked neither of us said a word, which I was grateful for. I knew this would not have been the case with Nick. I just wasn't really in the mood to talk about it. We walked for about half a mile before turning back.
"Joe." I said, breaking the silence.
"Mhhm?" He seemed like he didn't expect me to speak.
"Thank you." I don't think I would've made it this far without him. He was slowly becoming my rock.
When we got back to the funeral home there was about ten new faces. Progressively, more and more people showed up. The next day was the burial and then the reading of the wills. I was left everything, my most favorite piece being a pair of earrings. http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?fromGrid=1&sku=15946954& amp;mcat=148204&cid=287464&search_params=s+5-p+4-c+287464-r+10 1323352-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+ And I, was left to the Jonases. They wound up selling their house and moving into mine, since it was by far much larger. They didn't seem to mind though.
Less than a month later we were back to work. Our record company planed a tour months ago. We refused to back out, we could never let our fans down like that. It was a three month tour. The boys and I would play every show together. Our first show was at the Madison Square Garden. But the day before we had a show a the Izod Center, in the boys hometown of Wyckoff. We arrived at the venue at four o clock to do soundcheck. After that was time for hair, makeup and wardrobe. My outfit consisted of a True Religion leather jacket, a white Urban Outfitters tee, NOBODY black jeans and black Tory Burch boots. The boys looked great in simple tees and skinny jeans. After that we went backstage and played videogames for about 2 hours. Finally it was time for lockdown. It was just the boys and me. I put in my iPod and began to get ready for the biggest show of my life, so far. Forty-five minutes later and it was time for the show to begin. The boys and I peeked our heads out from somewhere we couldn't be seen. Every seat was filled. The crowd was chanting Charlie! Jonas! Charlie! Jonas! I was up first. The lights went out and it was time. I hugged each of the boys and they wished me luck. I waited anxiously. As I began to sing, I was raised through the stage. The crowd went nuts as one single spotlight shined on me.
Sometimes I walk a little faster
In the school hallway just to get next to you
Some days I spend a little extra time
In the morning just to impress you
Guess don't notice, guess you don't need this
Sad, you're not seeing what you're missing
On the outside shyin' away
On the inside dyin' to say
I'm unusual, not so typical
Way too smart to be waiting around
Tai Chi practicing, snowboard champion
I can fix the flat on your car
I might even be a rock star
I might even be a rock star
Sometimes I wish when the phone rings
That it would be you sayin', "Let's hang out"
Then you confess that there's something special
Between us, why don't we find out
You don't even know me, guess you don't need me
Why, you're not seein' what you're missin'
On the outside shyin' away
On the inside dyin' to say
I'm unusual, not so typical
Way too smart to be waiting around
Tai Chi practicing, snowboard champion
I can fix the flat on your car
I might even be a rock star
If you only knew the real me
I might even be a ra-ock star
I'm telling you that we are meant to be
Now wouldn't it be nice if you could see
That I really am a rock star
Yeah yeah, woo
Yeah I really am a rock star
Ha, a rock star
I'm unusual, not so typical
Way too smart to be waiting around
Tai Chi practicing, snowboard champion
I can fix the flat on your car
Rockin' it wherever we are, yeah yeah
'Cause I really am a rock star
'Cause I really am a rock star
I am a rock star, whoa, yeah!
As I finished the song, I spoke to the crowd.
"Thank you all for coming tonight. I hope you have an amazing time."
I continued singing songs from my CD. After the last one a piano was lifted onto the stage.
"This is a new song. Not on any CD's. I went through something devastating recently and this song is the result. Hope y'all like it."
I sat down a the piano, took a deep breath and began to sing.
Sha la la la la
Sha la la la la
You used to call me your angel
Said I was sent straight down from heaven
You'd hold me close in your arms
I loved the way you felt so strong
I never wanted you to leave
I wanted you to stay here holding me
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear
Every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you, sha la la la la
I miss you
You used to call me your dreamer
And now I'm living out my dream
Oh how I wish you could see
Everything that's happening for me
I'm thinking back on the past
It's true that time is flying but too fast
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear
Every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you, sha la la la la
I miss you
I know you're in a better place, yeah
But I wish that I could see your face, oh
I know you're where you need to be
Even though it's not here with me
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear
Every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you, sha la la la la
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear
Every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you, sha la la la la
I miss you
As I finished the song I was overtaken by my emotions. But the crowd loved it, which is all it took to bring a smile to my face.
"Thank you all! I love you!" I said running off the stage.
The boys were waiting for me the second I ran off the stage.
"Charlie that was amazing!" Nick said, hugging me.
"Yeah, they really loved you." Joe was next to hug. Then Kevin.
"You guys will do great. Knock em dead."
"Thanks Charlie." Kevin said before they ran onstage.
I went into the dressing room, showered and then went to watch the boys. They had the crowd just as pumped as I did. They were truly some of the best performers I'd ever seen, besides me of course.
After they finished all of their songs they called me back onstage to take our bows. The crowd went wild. Some people threw flowers onstage.
"Wow, what a rush." Joe said when we were finally offstage.
"You guys did awesome. You looked so happy out there. Like you belong nowhere else."
The boys showered and then we headed out to the bus. We had a little dinner then we all passed out.
The next night we were playing at MSG. I was pumped. This was my home state of New York. I'd been to plenty of concerts here before I moved out to California.
I wore the same outfit I had the night before, and would wear for the rest of the tour. I opened the show with La La Land, then continued with GNO and Trainwreck. After another three songs it was time for the boys to take the stage and for me to get ready for my second performance. The boys played about ten songs and then it was my turn. The tune of Let's Dance began.
The weekends almost done
The moon is low in the sky
I feel like goin out
Before the night passes by
I won't just sit around
When life becomes a drag
I dance
I sang from backstage. Then as the musical interlude began Joe and I walked on stage. We were strictly dance partners. Now I was in a light gray dress with black and dark gray polka dots and black converses.
Joe was my partner for the whole song and the crowd ate it up. The boys did one more song while I did one final change into a plain black tee, jeans and a pair of slouch boots. We closed the show with our duet, We Got The Party. After the show, we got onto the bus. I went on perezhilton.com to get my daily fix. But to my surprise, Joe and I were the headlines.
She's Sixteen Joe!
Could there be something going on between teen popstars Joe Jonas and Charlotte Skye? Except for the age difference, I must say they do make a cute couple. The again, to me Charlotte seems like more of a Nick girl.
At that I closed my white Macbook and took it with me to my bunk. I hopped into my bunk and pulled the curtain closed. I reopened the laptop and continued to read.
At tonight's MSG show Jonas was Charlotte's dance partner for her hit song 'Let's Dance'. Maybe it was just stage chemistry, or maybe the two are closer than we all expected. Whoever she chooses, Charlotte is a wonderful girl and deserves to be treated right. We love you Charlie!
It hasn't even been two hours and our performance is already on Perez.
As the tour went on, rumors of Joe and I continued to fly. We met so many new people on the road. Joe even met his celebrity crush, Camilla Belle. The rumors of Joe and I finally calmed when he was spotted more frequently with Camilla. Joe and Camilla never officially said they were dating but the paps pretty much knew it. Being part of the inside circle I knew the truth. Joe had told me they were. I didn't really like Camilla, but then again, I probably wouldn't like anyone who dated one of my best friends.
I ran to my bunk and picked up my phone.
"Hola, mamacita!"
"Hello Charlotte, how's the tour?"
"Amazing, wish you were here."

The boys and I would play every show together. Our first show was at the Madison Square Garden. But the day before we had a show a the Izod Center, in the boys hometown of Wyckoff. We arrived at the venue at four o clock to do soundcheck. After that was time for hair, makeup and wardrobe. My outfit consisted of a True Religion leather jacket, a white Urban Outfitters tee, NOBODY black jeans and black Tory Burch boots. The boys looked great in simple tees and skinny jeans. After that we went backstage and played videogames for about 2 hours. Finally it was time for lockdown. It was just the boys and me. I put in my iPod and began to get ready for the biggest show of my life, so far. Forty-five minutes later and it was time for the show to begin. The boys and I peeked our heads out from somewhere we couldn't be seen. Every seat was filled. The crowd was chanting Charlie! Jonas! Charlie! Jonas! I was up first. The lights went out and it was time. I hugged each of the boys and they wished me luck. I waited anxiously. As I began to sing, I was raised through the stage. The crowd went nuts as one single spotlight shined on me.
Sometimes I walk a little faster
In the school hallway just to get next to you
Some days I spend a little extra time
In the morning just to impress you
Guess don't notice, guess you don't need this
Sad, you're not seeing what you're missing
On the outside shyin' away
On the inside dyin' to say
I'm unusual, not so typical
Way too smart to be waiting around
Tai Chi practicing, snowboard champion
I can fix the flat on your car
I might even be a rock star
I might even be a rock star
Sometimes I wish when the phone rings
That it would be you sayin', "Let's hang out"
Then you confess that there's something special
Between us, why don't we find out
You don't even know me, guess you don't need me
Why, you're not seein' what you're missin'
On the outside shyin' away
On the inside dyin' to say
I'm unusual, not so typical
Way too smart to be waiting around
Tai Chi practicing, snowboard champion
I can fix the flat on your car
I might even be a rock star
If you only knew the real me
I might even be a ra-ock star
I'm telling you that we are meant to be
Now wouldn't it be nice if you could see
That I really am a rock star
Yeah yeah, woo
Yeah I really am a rock star
Ha, a rock star
I'm unusual, not so typical
Way too smart to be waiting around
Tai Chi practicing, snowboard champion
I can fix the flat on your car
Rockin' it wherever we are, yeah yeah
'Cause I really am a rock star
'Cause I really am a rock star
I am a rock star, whoa, yeah!
As I finished the song, I spoke to the crowd.
"Thank you all for coming tonight. I hope you have an amazing time."
I continued singing songs from my CD. After the last one a piano was lifted onto the stage.
"This is a new song. Not on any CD's. I went through something devastating recently and this song is the result. Hope y'all like it."
I sat down a the piano, took a deep breath and began to sing.
Sha la la la la
Sha la la la la
You used to call me your angel
Said I was sent straight down from heaven
You'd hold me close in your arms
I loved the way you felt so strong
I never wanted you to leave
I wanted you to stay here holding me
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear
Every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you, sha la la la la
I miss you
You used to call me your dreamer
And now I'm living out my dream
Oh how I wish you could see
Everything that's happening for me
I'm thinking back on the past
It's true that time is flying but too fast
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear
Every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you, sha la la la la
I miss you
I know you're in a better place, yeah
But I wish that I could see your face, oh
I know you're where you need to be
Even though it's not here with me
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear
Every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you, sha la la la la
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear
Every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you, sha la la la la
I miss you
As I finished the song I was overtaken by my emotions. But the crowd loved it, which is all it took to bring a smile to my face.
"Thank you all! I love you!" I said running off the stage.
The boys were waiting for me the second I ran off the stage.
"Charlie that was amazing!" Nick said, hugging me.
"Yeah, they really loved you." Joe was next to hug. Then Kevin.
"You guys will do great. Knock em dead."
"Thanks Charlie." Kevin said before they ran onstage.
I went into the dressing room, showered and then went to watch the boys. They had the crowd just as pumped as I did. They were truly some of the best performers I'd ever seen, besides me of course.
After they finished all of their songs they called me back onstage to take our bows. The crowd went wild. Some people threw flowers onstage.
"Wow, what a rush." Joe said when we were finally offstage.
"You guys did awesome. You looked so happy out there. Like you belong nowhere else."
The boys showered and then we headed out to the bus. We had a little dinner then we all passed out.
The next night we were playing at MSG. I was pumped. This was my home state of New York. I'd been to plenty of concerts here before I moved out to California.
I wore the same outfit I had the night before, and would wear for the rest of the tour. I opened the show with La La Land, then continued with GNO and Trainwreck. After another three songs it was time for the boys to take the stage and for me to get ready for my second performance. The boys played about ten songs and then it was my turn. The tune of Let's Dance began.
The weekends almost done
The moon is low in the sky
I feel like goin out
Before the night passes by
I won't just sit around
When life becomes a drag
I dance
I sang from backstage. Then as the musical interlude began Joe and I walked on stage. We were strictly dance partners. Now I was in a light gray dress with black and dark gray polka dots and black converses.
Joe was my partner for the whole song and the crowd ate it up. The boys did one more song while I did one final change into a plain black tee, jeans and a pair of slouch boots. We closed the show with our duet, We Got The Party. After the show, we got onto the bus. I went on perezhilton.com to get my daily fix. But to my surprise, Joe and I were the headlines.
She's Sixteen Joe!
Could there be something going on between teen popstars Joe Jonas and Charlotte Skye? Except for the age difference, I must say they do make a cute couple. The again, to me Charlotte seems like more of a Nick girl.
At that I closed my white Macbook and took it with me to my bunk. I hopped into my bunk and pulled the curtain closed. I reopened the laptop and continued to read.
At tonight's MSG show Jonas was Charlotte's dance partner for her hit song 'Let's Dance'. Maybe it was just stage chemistry, or maybe the two are closer than we all expected. Whoever she chooses, Charlotte is a wonderful girl and deserves to be treated right. We love you Charlie!
It hasn't even been two hours and our performance is already on Perez.
As the tour went on, rumors of Joe and I continued to fly. We met so many new people on the road. Joe even met his celebrity crush, Camilla Belle. The rumors of Joe and I finally calmed when he was spotted more frequently with Camilla. Joe and Camilla never officially said they were dating but the paps pretty much knew it. Being part of the inside circle I knew the truth. Joe had told me they were. I didn't really like Camilla, but then again, I probably wouldn't like anyone who dated one of my best friends.
Chapter Four: Our Future's Coming True.
Fast Forward: Two Years.
Ring Ring
"Hello." I answered my best friend Nicholas' call.
"Charlie." Nick's voice shook. Something was wrong. Was he crying?
"Nick, oh my goodness. What's wrong! Is everyone okay?"
"Our label dropped us." I could hear him fighting back more tears.
"Oh, Nick I'm so sorry. It's probably for the best. Things will work out."
"I know. But in my gut I felt like this was our big break. And now it's over before it even started."
"Charlotte, come downstairs." My father asked through the intercom.
Let's get you up to speed. I had successfully reunited my parents and the Jonases. Nick, Joe, Kevin and I, oh and of course Tank, had become nothing short of a family. The spark between Joe and I was still there, but we tried to refrain from acting on our feelings, as to not cause awkwardness. Nick and Tate tried dating one time when my family and the Jonases visited Texas. But Tate blew it by bringing along her friends. Way to go Tate.
"Uh Nick, I hace to go. But call me if you still want to talk later. Keep your head up kiddo."
"Thanks Charlie."
I went downstairs to see what my father could possibly want from me. I found him downstairs in his office.
"Yes Faja?" I said, quoting Austin Powers.
"Just wanted to know if you wanted Chinese food."
"Uh, yeah sure. Dad, can I talk to you about something?" I said nervously, sitting in one of the leather chairs in front of his desk. I had gotten an idea but I didn't know if it would work.
"Of course." He turned from his computer to look at me.
"Well Kevin, Joe and Nick got dropped from their label and I was wondering if you could give them a chance." I shut my eyes and began to pray.
"Honey, I've never heard them play."
"Hold that thought." I ran upstairs, tripping only once, and then returned, CD in hand. I put it into his CD player and pressed play on 7:05.
"Is this how they sound live."
"Yes, well not anymore. Their voices changed, but they're even better now."
"I'll think about it. Leave the CD here."
"Thanks dad."
"Of course. BTW, do they write this themselves?"
"Actually, yes."
-A week later.-
Nick's POV
Eleven AM, hungover with sadness, and someone's ringing the doorbell. Honestly people? I opened it to see Charlie and her father at the door.
"Hi Charlie, Devin. Come on in."
"Where are your parents Nick? I'd like to speak with them."
"Hold on."
"Get Joe and Kevin, too." He called after me.
I called my parents, Joe and Kevin from the basement. When they got upstairs we all sat around the dining room table.
"Devin, is something wrong?" My mother asked.
"No, somethings right actually."
"What are you talking about?"
Devin pulled out a stack of papers.
"What is that?" My father seemed so confused. Almost as much as my brothers and I.
"Well it could be your sons' record deal."
"What!"
"Oh my goodness!"
"No way!"
"On one condition."
"What is it?" I asked.
"I need to hear you play, live. If you're good, you have a deal."
"My brothers and I looked to my parents.
"Please mommy?" Joe asked.
"Of course, it's your dream. Go for it."
"Thank you a million times!"
My brothers and I led Devin and Charlie to the music room. Kevin and I picked up our guitars and took seats on the couch. Joe sat on the arm. We all looked to Devin.
"Whenever you're ready."
Hello beautiful
How's it going?
I hear it's wonderful in California
I've been missing you
It's true...
But tonight
I'm gonna fly
Yeah tonight
I'm gonna fly
'Cause I could go across the world,
And see everything
And never be satisfied
If I couldn't see those eyes
Hello beautiful
It's been a long time
Since my phone's rung
And you been on that line
I've been missing you
It's true
But tonight
I'm gonna fly
Yeah tonight
I'm gonna fly
Oh yeah
'Cause I could go across the world,
and see everything
And never be satisfied
If I couldn't see those eyes
Charlie and Devin turned to each other and made a huddle.
"Well boys, you've got a deal."
Kevin, Joe and I all began to jump on the couches. Devin went to sit with our parents to finalize everything.
"Charlie, what's wrong?" I said as I noticed her sitting there
"Don't forget me when you're big rockstars. Stay humble. Sta true to yourselves. Don't compromise your morals. And don't sell out."
"Always." Joe said.
"Boys." My mother called us. We went into the dining room to sign ourselves to be big hits.
Charlie's POV
I stayed in the music room as the boys rushed to sign their little lives away. I sat down at the piano. I was a closet musician. I only played when I was alone.
Say you're sorry
That face of an angel comes out
Just when you need it to
As I pace back and forth all this time
'Cause I honestly believed in you
Holding on,
The days drag on
Stupid girl
I should have known, I should have known
That I'm not a princess
This ain't a fairytale
I'm not the one you'll sweep off her feet
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain't Hollywood,
This is a small town
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now its too late for you and your White Horse,
To come around.
Baby I was naive,
Got lost in your eyes
I never really had a chance.
My mistake I didn't know to be in love you had to fight to have the upper hand.
I had so many dreams about you and me.
Happy endings
Now I know
I'm not a princess
This ain't a fairytale
I'm not the one you'll sweep off her feet
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain't Hollywood,
This is a small town
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now its too late for you and your White Horse,
To come around.
And there you are on your knees
Begging for forgiveness,
Begging for me
Just like I always wanted,
But I'm so sorry
Cause I'm not your princess
This ain't our fairytale
I'm gonna find someone, someday
Who might actually treat me well.
This is a big world,
That was a small town
There in my rear view mirror,
Disappearing now.
And it's too late for you and your White Horse
Now its too late for you and your White Horse
To catch me now.
Oh whoa whoa whoa-oh
Try and catch me now
Oh
It's too late
To catch me now.
"You're not half bad." I turned to see Nick, Joe, Kevin, Denise, Paul and my father all standing in the doorway.
"Thanks." I said meekly.
We left the Jonas house and on the ride home my dad broke the awkward silence that had set in.
"Charlotte, you're amazing. Why didn't you tell me you play?"
"I don't know."
"Would you like to pursue music Charlotte?"
"Honestly, it's my dream."
"You're going to be a big star."
"You think so?"
"It's my job to know so."
That night, I too was signed to Hollywood Records.
The next six months were all work and no play for the boys and me. We were constantly recording. But at least we still got to spend time together. The boys CD was set to release November 12th, and mine, December 19th. The boys and I were stoked.
Finally came the day of the boys CD release. We went to the Virgin Records store in Time Square because New York was where we happened to be at the time. We were performing small shows, trying to get new fans. By the time my CD was released we had become overnight sensations. We were blowing up and honestly, it terrified me.
Come February, we were household names. But with fame and fortune, February also brought tragedy.

Chapter Three: So you know each other?
Seasons are changing and waves are crashing and stars are falling all for us.
My phone began to ring.
"Helloooo?" I answered.
"Hey Charlie."
"Oh, hi Nick."
"What's up?"
"Nothing, just catching up on some of my gossip reading."
"Tell me you read Perez Hilton."
"Guilty."
"Joe's addicted to that garbage."
"It is so not garbage. But you didn't call to talk about this, so what's up?"
"Well I'm going to put you on speaker. We have something to say."
"Okay?"
"THANK YOU CHARLIE!!!!!!!" They all yelled.
I quickly pulled the phone away from my ear. Good thing it's not like I wanted to be able to hear.
"It was nothing."
"But you believe in us and that's all we can ask." Nick said in a low tone.
"Uh guys, I have to go. The rents are beeping in."
"Bye Charlie."
Once they hung up I answered my parents.
"Hi mom. Hi dad."
"Hello sweetheart." They both said over the speakerphone.
"How's Texas?"
"Lovely dear. What have you and Jesse been up to?"
"Well he introduced me to some new people."
"That's nice honey. Who are they?"
"Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas."
"Would their parents happen to be Denise and Paul?" My father asked.
"Yes, actually. How'd you know?"
"I'll explain it some other time. We love you. See you in two weeks."
"Okay, love ya."
My parents know the Jonases. What a small world. I wonder how. Maybe I could ask Denise when I see her.
I decided to take it easy for the rest of the night. Actually, it turned out to be the rest of the week. I came down with a nasty cold and was too lazy to do anything. But then three days before my parents got home I got a call.
"Hello?"
"Hey Charlie."
"Hi Joe."
"Do you and Jesse wanna come bowling with me and the family?"
"I'll ask, hold on." I put my phone on my bed and raced to ask Jesse. No surprise, I found him in the kitchen.
"Wanna go bowling with the Jonases?"
"Sure why not."
I ran back upstairs and got back on the phone. Joe was still there but he was quietly singing to himself. I listened for a minute before I spoke.
"Joe we'd love to."
"Great, we'll pick you up in an hour. See you then."
"Bye."
I picked a purple Metro Station shirt, a black cardigan and Sass and Bide denim shorts. Some black converses to top it off and I was good to go.
About twenty minutes later a black SUV pulled up. Joe came to the door to get us. "Let's go Jesse." I yelled as Joe pulled me outside. Jesse locked the door and ran out after us.
"Hi everyone." I said as I climbed into the way back.
Denise and Paul were in the front, Nick, Kevin and Jesse in the middle, and Joe and me in the back. I guess Frankie wouldn't be joining today.
As I sat, staring out the window, my hand resting on the seat, I couldn't help but thinking how much I love spending time with this family. Suddenly, I felt something on my hand. I turned to see Joe's hand resting on mine. I smiled and couldn't help but to blush. We pulled up to PINZ and went inside. My lane was me, Nick and Joe. The other was Denise, Paul, Kevin and Jesse. We played the first game and Nick beat me by twelve points. And I beat Joe by another fourteen.
"Who's up for a second game?" Paul asked.
"I think I'll sit this one out. Actually Denise, I was hoping I could talk to you."
"Okay, you boys play this game."
Denise and I took a seat at the table by our lanes.
"So what's on your mind Charlie?"
"Well I was talking to my dad the other day and he seemed to know you when I mentioned the name Jonas. I was just wondering how."
"What did you say your last name was Charlie?"
"Calderbrooke."
"Devin is your father, isn't he?"
"Yes."
"Paul and your father were best friends in high school. Same with your mother and me. But after you and Nicholas were born we slowly drifted."
"Well maybe we can all get together once they get back."
"That's a wonderful idea."
"I'll talk to them when they get home."
By the time Denise and I were done talking the second game was already over. On the ride home I was next to Joe in the back again. I fought the urges to just reach over and grab his hand.
They dropped us off at three and Jesse and I watched Real World reruns all day.
My phone began to ring.
"Helloooo?" I answered.
"Hey Charlie."
"Oh, hi Nick."
"What's up?"
"Nothing, just catching up on some of my gossip reading."

Chapter Two: The Perfect Gift.
We got home at a decent hour, so Jesse and I decided to watch Holes. Oh Shia, you are so beautiful. After it was over I headed up to my room, but as I lay there, staring out my glass ceiling, I couldn't fall asleep. I layed there for four hours and I could only think about why Nick could possibly be ignoring me. I picked my phone up off the charger and decided since it was three AM I probably wouldn't get an answer but it was worth a shot.
To Joe
Hey, question.
Surprisingly, I got a reply.
From Joe
Yes?
To Joe
Why does Nick ignore me?
From Joe
Honestly idk, but he's a fool for ignoring someone as beautiful as you.
I could feel my face heating up.
To Joe
Okay, thanks anyway Joe. You're amazing.
From Joe
So I've been told.
To Joe
Goodnight Joseph.
From Joe
You too.
Finally I was able to fall asleep. The next morning I woke up to the smell of bacon. I walked groggily down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Smells good Clive." But to my surprise I found Jesse cooking and the Jonas boys sitting at my kitchen table. Boy was I regretting not looking in the mirror.
"Good morning Charlie." Kevin greeted.
"Hello boys." I took a seat in my usual chair.
"So Charlie, I was thinking a relaxing day at the mall?"
"Sounds good. Will you boys be joining?" I asked the Jonai.
"Wouldn't miss it." Joe spoke.
I ate my breakfast and then went upstairs to get ready. Today my outfit consisted of a black and white baseball tee with a picture of Elvis Costello on it, Urban Outfitters Jeans and Abercrombie flip flops. I showered quickly, dressed and headed back downstairs.
The boys hadn't moved an inch from where I left them. Only now Nick had a glass of juice in front of him.
"Ready?" Jesse asked.
"Yup." I put on my Ray Bans and headed out the door, boys in tow.
"Shotgun." Kevin called running to the car.
"Cool glasses Charlie. Can I see them?" Joe asked.
"Sure." I took them off and handed them to Joe. He put them on and turned to me for my opinion.
"They look awesome."
"Nick, Kev, these could be like our trademark thing. We should each get a pair.
Joe recieved a sure and an okay from each of his brothers.
"How much were they?" He turned back to me.
"One twenty six."
"Well then I guess we will be waiting until we're rich and famous."
This gave me an idea. We got to the mall and I told Jesse there was something I had o do. I had half an hour to get done and meet them back at the food court.
I ran to Solstice and loked for my favorite guy.
"Ricky!" I shouted when I saw him.
"Hello Charlotte." Ricky was one of my friends brothers. He always gave me a deal.
"I need help."
"Lots of it. I have the number of a good therapist if you'd like it."
"Shut up. I need three pairs of Ray Ban Wayfarers. Any color. Can you help me?"
"I'll go look in the back. Give me five minutes."
I waited impatiently until he came back with three silver boxes.
"Is red, black and white okay?"
"Perfect."
"Three hundred."
"Shouldn't it be more?"
"Do you want a deal or not?"
"I owe you one."
"I'll hold you to that."
I handed him my card and when he handed it back along with my purchases I checked my phone. I had three minutes to make it across the mall. I bolted out of the store and began running like a lunatic through the mall. Note to Self: Flip Flops + Mall = FAIL.
I spotted them at table and stopped to catch my breath.
"Hey guys." I finally approached them.
"You okay?" Jesse asked.
"Fine."
We began walking through the mall towards American Apparel. Somehow Nick and I wound up at the back of the pack.
"I like your shirt." He said after what felt like the longest silence ever.
"Thanks."
"You like Elvis Costello?"
"Yeah. He's cool. One of my favorites."
"Me too."
This wound up being the spark to our friendship. We wound up revealing our lives to each other in that one short afternoon.
Once we got home from dropping off the boys I had lots of work. I found tape, scissors and wrapping paper. I wrapped each pair of glasses and something extra for Nick. Thank God I had an extra of these.
"Charlie. Can I come in." Jesse said from outside my door.
"Sure."
"Wanna go to the Jonas' for dinner?"
Perfect.
"Yeah."
"Okay, get ready quick."
Shower, check. Outfit, check. I decided on a plaid shirt, skinny jeans and converses. Hair, good enough.
When we got to the Jonai residence Denise invited us inside.
"Nick, Joe, Kevin and Frankie. Come up here!" The all barrelled up from the basement. Since Nick and I now talked, he joined the hugging madness.
"Dinner isn't ready yet. Someone give Charlotte and Jesse a tour."
"I will." Nick piped up. I took careful mind notes as Nick explained the living room, dining room, bathroom, Paul's office, and the three upstairs bedroom and one upstairs bathroom. And my personal favorite room. The music room. Inside was a beautiful black baby grand piano. It was gorgeous.
We went downstairs just as Denise was about to call us for dinner.
"Denise, this is delicous."
"Thank you Charlie."
"So what are your parents in Texas for?" Paul asked.
"Well my dad is part owner of the Dallas Cowboys so he likes to go down and watch them during pre-season."
"Are you serious!?" Nick shouted.
"What?"
"That's my favorite team."
"Mine too."
I had to do this sometime. I excused myself from the bathroom and went upstairs. I placed each boys gift on his bed.
NICKS POV
After Jesse and Charlie left my brothers and I helped my parents clean. We then went up to my room to play some video games. I was surprised to see gifts on my bed. Kevin and Joe immediately went to check if they had gotten anything. They both returned, box in hand. Each box had a card attached.
"Card first?" I asked. They both nodded in agreement.
On the inside of our cards it said the same thing.
I believe in you.
You deserve these.
xo Charlie.
We all ripped off the red wrapping paper to reveal silver boxes with the words Ray Ban across the front.
"She didn't." Kevin said.
"Oh yes she did." Joe said pulling a pair of white sunglasses from his box.
Kevin and I did the same. Mine were red and Kevin's were black.
"Nick what's in your other box?" Joe asked.
"Oh I totally forgot." I unwrapped it and opened it. There was a not on top.
Hope you like it. Hope it fits. PS It's not mine.
I unfolded the tissue paper to reveal a black and white baseball tee with a picture of Elvis Costello on it. I loved it. I tried it on and it was a little big. Perfect, even if I grew it would still fit. How could we ever repay her for this.
"Wow." Was the only word my mouth could form.
To Joe
Hey, question.
Surprisingly, I got a reply.

Chapter One: The First Meeting.
by peacelovesamantha
"Charlotte we're leaving. Come see us off." My mother bellowed up the stairs.
I slowly walked down the stairs to make sure I didn't fall. Not that it would be anything new. I enveloped my parents both into a huge hug. They were going on their annual trip to Dallas. My dad was part owner of the Dallas Cowboys, so every year they went down during pre-season. This year, I opted to stay home.
Maybe I should give you some background information. My name is Charlotte Skye Calderbrooke, I'm almost fourteen and I call the 90210 home. My father, Devin Calderbrooke, is the talent scout for Hollywood Records. It's basically his choice whether or not you get signed. So naturally I know lots of famous people.
Being thirteen and a half my parents felt I couldn't stay alone. So my cousin Jesse would be staying at our house. He's a well known musician with hits like Beautiful Soul and She's No You. Yeah, Jesse McCartney is my cousin. But that's nothing special when you live the life I do.
Just as my parents were about to leave the doorbell rang and Clark, our butler, opened the door to reveal Jesse.
"Charlie!" He ran straight at me, embracing me in one of his famous bear hugs.
"Jesse, it's been too long."
"It has, which is why I've planned something super fun for tonight."
"You two can talk about this after we leave but come give us hugs Jesse." My mother interjected.
Jesse went over to hug my mother and father and then they were off.
"So Jesse, what's on the agenda for tonight?" I excitedly inquired.
"Well as you know, I was just on tour. And I had this cool band open up for me. And tonight they're playing a small show here in California. I thought we could check that out."
"That sounds awesome. What band?"
"The Jonas Brothers. They're these three guys from Jersey."
"Never heard of them."
"Not many people have. It's going to be a small show. Not many fans."
"Okay, but can we grab something to eat before we go?"
"Sure, go get ready then we'll head out."
I ran upstairs showered quickly and headed to my closet, which is the size of most peoples bedrooms. I decided on a leather jacket, white tank top, skinny jeans and converses. Perfect. I let my hair dry naturally because that's how it looks best. (Picture it like Miley's hair.)
I took the steps carefully but two at a time. Jesse and I hopped into his car and he started to look through the center console for something.
"What are you looking for?"
"These." He said pulling out two cd cases.
"It's About Time?"
"It's the Jonases cd. I got you one."
"Thanks Jess."
He popped his cd in and clicked forward to a different track. A poppy upbeat tune began to play.
Mandy used to be that girl. The one who never said a word. But she only sang, S Club 7 and all those boy bands.
I actually liked this song. We decided on sushi and over the time it took for us to drive to dinner and then to the venue we listened to the cd four times. I had every word to every song memorized. We got to the small venue at six thirty and the show was set to start at seven. Jesse immediately got us to the front row. He was right when he said it would be a small audience. There was only about forty or so people. Including stage crew and band members. No wonder Jesse wasn't worried about having security with him. At the front he introduced me to someone he had met on the road.
"Charlie, this is Mandy."
"As in Mandy always laughs when I act stupid?"
"That's me." She shook my hand.
"It's so nice to meet you."
"You too. And may I say I love your name."
"Thanks."
Then three boys walked onstage.
"Hello I'm Kevin." The oldest began.
"And I'm Joe." Said the next.
"And I'm Nick." Finished the youngest, and in my opinion cutest one.
Then in unison, "and we're the Jonas Brothers."
"We'd like to thank you all for coming out to support us." Kevin continued.
"We'd like to kick things off with a song we hope you all know the words to." Joe said before the tune of Year 3000 started.
My guess was Joe was the frontman. Throughout the show he wowed the crowd with his high kicks and awesome dancing. Then to my surprise the boys invited Jesse on stage to sing Beautiful Soul. After the show Jesse and I were invited backstage. We got back there and the boys were signing autographs for fans.
"Jesse man, thanks for coming." Kevin greeted my cousin with a man hug.
"And who is this pretty girl." Joe added causing me to blush.
"Oh, this is my cousin Charlotte."
"Well Charlotte it's a pleasure to meet you." Kevin and Joe shook my hand.
"You can call me Charlie. And it's so nice to meet you guys too. You put on a great show."
"Well thank you Charlie."
"Um do you think you could sign this for me?" I asked pulling my cd out of my cross the body Fendi bag.
"We'd love to." Kevin pulled a sharpie from his back pocket. He signed, then Joe and finally Nick who I just realized hasn't said one word. He handed it back to me with a shy smile.
"Thank you guys."
"Anytime."
Just then a woman and man entered the room with a small boy trailing behind.
"Jesse, it's so good to see you again." The woman hugged my cousin.
"Denise, Paul, it's good to see you too. And Tank ya look good." My cousin added the last bit as he looked at the sleepy little boy.
"And who is this lovely lady." The man my cousin called Paul asked.
"This is my cousin Charlie. Charlie this is Denise and Paul, the boys parents. And over there is Frank the Tank."
"It's nice to meet you Mr. Jonas, Mrs. Jonas." I said their names as I shook their hands.
"Please Denise and Paul." Their mother told me.
"Hey Jesse we're having a barbecue tomorrow. You guys should stop by." Kevin said.
"Oh Kevin honey that's a great idea." Denise said.
"We'd love to." Jesse answered. "We should be heading home, it's getting late and we have a long drive."
"Okay, please be safe. We'll see you tomorrow at eleven. Don't forget your bathing suits." Denise hugged us each.
We headed out to the car and started the drive home. We turned up the radio and began to sing along when Jesse came on. Eventually I fell asleep. I woke up the next morning in my bed, still in my clothes from the night before. Jesse must've carried me up. I'd have to remember to thank him for that later. It was already nine so I only had an hour and a half before we had to leave. I showered then went to my closet to pick an outfit. I decided on a simple black Heidi Klein bikini with a white DKNY cotton coverup. Also a pair of white Marc Jacobs gladiator sandals. I love my style and like to think of myself as a trendsetter, even at such a young age. I put my hair into a ponytail. I packed a royal blue Juicy sweatsuit, a white American Apparel tee, my converses and some other necessities into a black Betsey Johnson tote. I picked up my black Ray Ban Wayfarers from my dresser and placed them atop my head.
"Look who's ready on time." Jesse said when he saw me coming down the stairs.
"Shut up." I laughed and picked up a pillow from the couch and tossed it at his head.
"You ready to head out?"
"Yep." We headed out to Jesse's car and made a quick detour to a bakery and then to Starbucks. We arrived at the Jonas household fifteen minutes later. We walked dessert in hand to the front door. We were taught not to ever show up empty handed hence the desserts. Denise opened the door with a smile on her face.
"So glad you could make it." She continued when she noticed the dessert in our hands. "You didn't have to bring anything."
"It's the least we could do. I said.
"Jesse help me put these in the kitchen." She said taking the desserts from my hands. "Charlie, you can go out through the back doors."
I did as I was told and wound up in the backyard. There I saw Paul, Frankie, Kevin, Joe, Nick and Mandy.
"Hey Charlie!" Joe ran over and picked me up when he saw me."
"Hi Joe." I laughed. I greeted everyone else once he put me down.
We had a great time in the pool and just goofing off all day. Mandy and I became quick friends.
"Dinner's ready." Paul called. We all sat around the outdoor table and louded our plates. Kevin said Grace and we all dug in.
"So what's this barbecue for?" Jesse asked.
"Well tomorrow Mandy's heading back to Jersey." Denise told us.
"Already! But we just met." I was truly upset.
"Don't worry. I'll visit again soon. Or the Jonases can bring you along when they come to Jersey." Mandy comforted me.
After dinner I changed and then the kids went out in the front to play baseball. My team was me , Nick and Joe. The other team, Kevin, Mandy, Jesse and Frankie. It was kind of awkward considering I still hadn't talked to Nick. I kind of felt like he was avoiding me. Even though we were one person down we still won. We ate dessert, then talked a little more. Before Jesse and I headed out, Joe and I exchanged numbers.
"Call me!" Was the last thing Joe said before we left.
"Or text me!" He yelled as we got into the car.
"Charlotte we're leaving. Come see us off." My mother bellowed up the stairs.
I slowly walked down the stairs to make sure I didn't fall. Not that it would be anything new. I enveloped my parents both into a huge hug. They were going on their annual trip to Dallas.
